Great news on the July, 2007 Visa Bulletin numbers!

USCIS announces that it will, after all accept employment based adjustment of status applications for cases current under the July visa bulletin, and will accept them until August 17th! AND, will only charge the lower filing fees (pre-July 30) for applications made under this program.

Immigration Medical Exam

When you apply for permanent residence, one of the pieces of evidence that you must submit is the I-693, "Medical Examination of Alien Seeking Adjustment of Status." I am often asked if an exam by the immigrant's own doctor is acceptable for this green card requirement; actually, the exam has to be performed by a doctor on USCIS's list of Civil Surgeons. Update on the July, 2007 Visa Bulletin

Looks like I spoke too soon about the backlogs; Department of State says employment numbers are used up for the fiscal year, and new ones won't be available until October 1.
